Ear to the Ground

Gossips just learned that Etsy founder Rob Kalin's new not-for-profit enterprise, which started out being called Parachutes, has launched a project that is being called Kite's Nest. Described as "a curious new place," the mission and future plans of Kite's Nest are defined on the group's website in this way:
Kite's Nest is a new place dedicated to curiosity and inquiry in Hudson, NY. We are a group of people that have come together around the idea of creating an extraordinary environment for children to work, play, and grow. We believe that through transforming relationships to both learning and places of learning, people can gain the knowledge, skills, and courage to make positive changes in their lives and in the world around them. We're calling 2013 our year of inquiry, starting slow and talking with people as our organization takes shape. During this year we'll launch three different projects of our center: programs for children and youth, a community kitchen, and a listening project.
