If there is such a thing as restoration extortion, the First Presbyterian Church may be practicing it. Many people find the green sheathing that now covers the major stained glass window in the church's facade offensive. If you are one of those people, you can help make that green sheathing go away by contributing to the church's Restoration Fund. Tomorrow night the Friends of the First Presbyterian Church offer a delightful opportunity to do so.
At 6 p.m. on Saturday, December 8, there is a Russian-American Christmas concert at the church to benefit the Restoration Fund. The concert, performed by organist Graham Farrell and trumpter Greg Glassman, will feature an arrangement for organ of Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Suite. The suggested donation, which will go to repair the window, is $15.
