It is predicted that, as more and more people learn about the health and environmental benefits of a plant-based diet, falafels--those vegetarian "meatballs" made from chick peas, onions, herbs, and spices--may become the hamburgers of the 21st century. If you're still stuck in the last century, scarfing down beef burgers, Falafel Awareness Month is meant for you.
During the month of January, says Justin Goldman, manager of Park Falafel & Pizza, "anyone who wants to try a falafel sandwich will have the opportunity to enjoy one for free. All they have to do is purchase any other item (such as a homemade dessert or a drink). They must bring a photo identification to Park Falafel & Pizza to claim their free falafel sandwich." (There's a limit of one per person during the month.)
Park Falafel & Pizza's falafel sandwich includes falafel balls, hummus, freshly chopped cucumber salad, and tahini sauce (sesame dressing) wrapped in pita bread that's baked daily in Park's very own bakery. Falafel sandwiches contain no animal products; they are completely vegan. Take advantage of this offer during Falafel Awareness Month, and you may become a regular at Park Falafel & Pizza, where, for more than three years now, they've been serving freshly made, quickly served inexpensive meals right here in Hudson.
