On Friday, Gossips reported the delivery of a lift to the boat launch parking lot and wondered if it meant work was going to resume on the escarpment, even though there was a stop-work order in place and the promised public meeting had not happened. Today, thanks to some Gossips scouts on the waterfront, we know why the lift is here. It is being used to retrieve equipment left behind by GSI (GeoStabilization International), lifting it over the fence from the railroad tracks to the parking lot and then to toting it to a truck parked near Ferry Street.
We still don't know the final outcome for the escarpment, but GSI appears to be departing.
