It seems Hudson is soon to have another coffee roastery. Gossips has learned that Whistle Punk Coffee Roasters is planning to open at 317 Warren Street, the location for nearly two decades of Foley & Cox.
Galvan acquired 317 Warren Street in 2005 and restored its facade, re-creating a period storefront. It is not known if the building is part of the gift to Bard College or not. The tax rolls for 2026 still list Galvan Initiatives Foundation as the owner of the property.

Guess you can't have too many coffee shops. We must be the most caffeinated municipality per capita in the Hudson Valley.

There is no Coffee Justice Director with an office next to the Mayor's Office.
There is no Hudson Catskill Coffee Coalition.
Meanwhile housing, schools and healthcare get boards, studies, subsidies and years of review, and in Hudson we get $42,000 a pupil and ~$800,000 per HHA apartment, and a hospital that loses ~$1m per month.
The coffee at least shows up on time, and there are options at all price points and most times of day, with a cafe vibe for almost every preference.
Notice that the coffee shop owners and workers put in the time, compete in the open market, charge everyone the same price, risk their own capital and time, and evolve.
No regulatory capture.
Let's hope they buy the $1,250,000 tax-exempt 610 State from the county and roast their beans there.
