Watching the Budget Being Made

Yesterday, the Board of Estimate and Apportionment (BEA), composed of the mayor, the Common Council president, and the treasurer, began the process of reviewing departmental budget requests for 2027 and crafting next year's city budget. That process will resume tomorrow and continue through the month of October. 

The workshops in which the budget is hammered out will all be hybrid, taking place in person at City Hall and on Teams. (The dates and times of the workshops and links will be posted in Gossips' "Meetings and Events in the Week Ahead.") For even greater transparency, the budget requests submitted by the various city departments are posted on the city website and can be found here.
