At about midnight last night, the New York State Senate passed
Bill S8129B mandating a moratorium on and a comprehensive study of hydro-fracking the Marcellus Shale. Senator Stephen Saland was one of 20 Republicans who along with 28 Democrats supported the bill.
great news! thanks for the heads up.
ReplyDeletesaland would sell us all for the immediate buck.
very appreciated
Anonymous: I think you may have misunderstood. Saland voted for the moratorium, as did the majority of the Senate: 48 ayes, 9 nays, 2 abstentions, 2 excused. Now the Assembly needs to pass a similar bill, which is expected to be voted on in September.
ReplyDeleteThank Goodness - now for the next step is stopping this awful project!
