This house at 13 South Second Street was constructed on what had been a vacant lot sometimes used for parking. It was built at roughly the same time as the two houses on
Willard Place in the same imitation Greek Revival style. According to county tax records, Galloway's "Hudson Preservation Group" sold the property for $380,000. Its current owner is rarely in evidence.
Thank You Mr Galloway. I remember all too well that terrible garage on that corner that was always dirty and noisy.
ReplyDeleteI heard from reliable sources that Chelsea Clinton had her engagement party here.
ReplyDeleteSee the owner of this handsome and loved HOME frequently.
ReplyDeleteOn a vacated and decaying lot a home was built....
I'm happy to hear this, Anonymous. I walk my dog past this house at least once a day, and I rarely see signs of habitation. I'm happy to have my perception corrected.
ReplyDeleteSo is your perception of a home that people use not on a daily basis a bad one? Are you opposed to second homeowners living in town. Please do not cut this as I will not stop until this is answered by you carole.
ReplyDeleteNo, I don't have a problem with second-home owners living in Hudson. Whatever gave you the idea that I did?
ReplyDeleteI simply made the observation that whoever owns this house doesn't seem to spend much time here--on weekends or during the week. It was a simple observation not a judgment.
actually, i know the homeowner quite well. and i have been in this house many times. the house is occupied and the owner has many friends in hudson and beyond.
ReplyDeletewould the owner of this house please make abundant noise to satisfy our judgmental miss marple? otherwise she may criticize you for being a kind, quiet neighbor.
