Ask a Question . . .
and the Register-Star finds the answer: "Putting in some air conditioning." It seems that the crane Gossips remarked about yesterday, which we now know is being used to lift air conditioning units onto the roof of a two-story addition under construction behind the Columbia County courthouse, had to be of such enormous height because of the "relatively tight space that the crane had to swivel." Then there's the answer suggested via email by Hudson Public Works superintendent Rob Perry: it is simply the crane, regardless of height, provided by the lowest responsible bidder.
