Of Interest

Amanda Purcell reports today in the Register-Star that former Hudson resident Joseph Best, who is now an immigration attorney in Pittsfield, will be offering free consultations at Christ Church tomorrow with anyone in Columbia County who has questions about their immigration status: "Free clinic to offer legal advice to immigrants." The clinic is one of several arranged each year by the Columbia County Sanctuary Movement.

    Joe is a highly experienced and respected immigration attorney -- the community is lucky to have this resource and for him to make it available pro bono. It's also nice to see the law being used as a shield every once in a while rather than solely as a sword.
