At 6 p.m. today, Alexandra Cox will be at the Hudson Area Library to talk about her newly released book Trapped in a Vice: The Consequences of Confinement for Young People. The book explores the explores the lives of young people and adults in the criminal justice system, revealing the ways they struggle to manage the expectation of the system, and examines the consequences of a juvenile justice system that is aimed at promoting change in the lives of young people but relies on tools and strategies that enmesh them in the system.
The talk is presented by the Hudson Area Library in collaboration with the Prison Public Memory Project. The library is located at 51 North Fifth Street.
