No Walden on Middle Ground Flats

Nathan Mayberg tells a harrowing story in today's Register-Star: "No middle ground after shots fired." A couple report that, while enjoying an unseasonably warm March day with their golden retriever on Middle Ground Flats, they were shot at with a high-powered rifle. They say the shots came from the Hudson side of the river, from the vicinity of the capped landfill in North Bay. The article raises and answers the question: Who polices Middle Ground Flats?

  1. An interesting question arises. Where does a crime take place? At the location of the victim or the location of the perpetrator?

Meanwhile, it appears no authority took any responsibility whatsoever to assist.
