The portraits of the mayors of Hudson that ring the walls of the Common Council chamber were rehung recently after the room was repainted, but one of them is still missing. The portrait of Dr. Samuel White, who, besides serving as mayor of Hudson for a term or two, operated the Hudson Lunatic Asylum at 400 State Street from 1830-1850, unfortunately fell from its hanger. DPW Superintendent Rob Perry is looking for a restorer willing and able to repair the antique frame that holds Dr. White's portrait.
Hadn't had a chance until the HPC meeting today to speak to Rob Perry, but Nick Haddad has a restorer he recommends strongly. So we are pursuing that contact.
