Of Interest: Habitat for Humanity in Albany

"When Habitat for Humanity comes up, the image that probably pops into a lot of people's minds is that of a volunteer org getting together on weekends and building small houses, one at a time." That's the lede in this article about Habitat for Humanity Capital District, which appeared yesterday on All Over Albany: "Bringing Albany buildings back from blight and making them into owner-occupied homes."

  1. Very interesting. I wonder if some of these buildings were included in the recent Breathing Lights installation, which was pretty wonderful on a very subdued level. It brought attention to areas of the three Capital Region cities (Albany/Troy/Schenectady) that most of us would overlook, and to the great architectural bones that are there, of homes that sadly were vacant yet came alive in their pulsating, respirating way.
