Remember Bill Loewenstein?

His last service to Hudson was to try to bring Americlean, a toxic PERC (perchloroethylene) recycling plant, to our waterfront in the late 1990s. You can catch up on Loewenstein's latest enterprise--at Yankee Stadium--in this Reuters report. Thanks to Columbia County News for bringing this to our attention.

  1. Wow! I guess, from our perspective up here in Columbia County, not doing business with Loewenstein can be counted as a tragedy narrowly averted.

  2. Hudson did a LOT of business with Bill Loewenstein in the past--much of it before I came here in 1993. The last project I recall that involved him was, as I said, the Americlean fiasco in 1997, which Sam Pratt referred to last week as "boot camp for the SLC fight."

  3. Thanks for the link to my website. I didn't know all the backstory to the 90s but I thought someone would. Glad Rueters has these blogs. Glad their are great local blogs out there or no real news would ever get out. Thanks for blogging Hudson.
