Attention Event Planners

Each year, the Common Council Arts, Entertainment & Tourism Committee has a budget of $15,000 to dole out, to provide partial support for events "that have an impact on the economic & social fabric of Our City." In the past, the Hudson Development Corporation (HDC) has kicked in another $5,000, to make the total $20,000, but this year HDC is using its $5,000 to build a website to help organizations apply for not-for-profit 501(c)3 status, so the extra $5,000 may come from the City's fund balance. 

Whether the total amount is $15,000 or $20,000, the AET Committee is now accepting applications from organizations and individuals who want a piece of the pie. Guidelines for applying are now available on the City's website. Applications are due on April 30. The committee will review the applications and make decisions about allocating funding at its regular monthly meeting on May 6.
