Following Through

Gossips has been linking to the posts in Sam Pratt's series about the candidates for district attorney in Columbia County: Paul Czajka and Eugene Keeler. Today, he published his final post on the subject, the last part of which has some interesting implications for the political scene here in Hudson: "Election 2019: Odds & ends & codas."

  1. The Jim Chambers that Sam Pratt has pictured and linked to is not the same Jim Chambers that lives in Hillsdale

  2. Ok, Sam has made peculiar accusations against me and my husband, Michael Grisham, which he'll comment on separately. As for those addressed to me, first and annoyingly, he accuses me of ranting. I assume he's talking about my response to his second blog. Hardly a rant. You can read it here: https://keelerforda.com/newsletter/f/the-peculiar-pratt-attack (Has he actually re-read his own blogs? Rant paradigms.) And we posted this and other non-ranting articles on the campaign on a section on Keeler's official website: https://keelerforda.com/newsletter Hardly a "local shovelware" site. As for my position as secretary of the CCDC committee and my role in co-managing Gene's campaign, these are not conflicts, and my contribution to the Keeler campaign is completely ethical and legal. I'm a good Democrat. I contribute to our candidates and sometimes I work for them.

  3. Pratt claims in his latest:
“When asked why money was flowing in both directions from this household and the Keeler-campaign, the anonymously-moderated Keeler for DA Facebook page says the funds were a reimbursement for production of campaign finance signs.”

That’s my household with Carol Peckham he’s talking about and we moderate the Keeler for DA Facebook page.

Actually, our response was: “As reported on the BoE site, Art Science Code was reimbursed for payment to signrocket.com for lawn signs.” That is, I used my Art Science Code credit card to pay signrocket.com $1,855 and Art Science Code was reimbursed $1,855 by the Keeler campaign. By omitting any mention of signrocket.com, Sam misrepresents Art Science Code as a producer of lawn signs.

Here's the Board of Elections record:

    08/20/19 SIGNROCKET.COM … 106R $0.00 R-DET LAWN SIGNS FOR CANDIDATE …
    09/29/19 ART SCIENCE CODE … CHK106 $1,855.00 REIMB …

Check 106 (CHK106) was reimbursement (REIMB) for the expense referenced as 106R with reimbursement detail (R-DET) shown (LAWN SIGNS FOR CANDIDATE)
