On Thursday, January 12, at 7:30 p.m., the Columbia County Democratic Committee is holding a Zoom meeting about the Assembly redistricting plan proposed by the New York Independent Redistricting Committee (NYIRC).

The purpose of the Zoom meeting is to discuss and strategize a response to the proposed lines. Click here to join the meeting on Zoom.
The commission and the legislature may have lost jurisdiction to redistrict anything at all when it blew that drop dead date of Feb 22, 2022 (or around that date) to do so. If so, we are back to a special master. Oral argument at the appellate court level on the matter is being heard on Jan 17. Another County Dem zoom meeting is on Jan 16. I missed the one on the 12th, but I am told the focus was on parochial issues. If so, that is not a very effective way to win friends and influence people.
