Peaceful Transition at the Board of Elections

At this time three years ago, there was some drama surrounding the appointment of the Democratic Commissioner at the Board of Elections. You can remind yourself of it here and here

This year, a change happened without a hitch. Ken Dow, who was appointed to the position in February 2020, made known his intention not to seek reapppointment, and Erin Stamper, who was already serving as Deputy Commissioner, was the only applicant for the position. On Tuesday, Stamper was sworn in as Democratic Commissioner of Elections by Holly Tanner, County Clerk.

  1. This is fantastic. Erin will be a great Commissioner of Elections. Every county resident in any political party or no party will know that their vote is protected by following the law and that each vote cast, will be properly tabulated and counted.
