New York to Get New Congressional Districts

The New York State Court of Appeals decided today that the state's bipartisan Independent Redistricting Commission will redraw the state's congressional map before the 2024 elections. Gossips learned the news from Gothamist: "NY voters to get new congressional districts in major win for Democrats."

Ken Jenkins, who chairs the New York  State Independent Redistricting Commission, made the following statement about the decision:
We are pleased with the Court of Appeals' decision and look forward to getting back to work with our colleagues as soon as possible to ensure that New York's voters receive the benefit of the historic redistricting reforms they voted for in 2014.
