Demolition Opposition Update
The Save 900 Columbia Street petition now has 500 signatures. There are three days left to sign before the petition is delivered. If you haven't already signed it, please do so now.
I appreciate your efforts in trying to save 900 Columbia Street and I signed your petition. Here in Rhinebeck we recently passed a law that helps prevent demolition of historic buildings. It has proved to be very effective. Sounds like Hudson needs a similar law and I would be happy to help get the ball rolling on that issue. Our local Historic Society has also been very active in building preservation.

This blog takes its name from the 1850 novel by Hudson author Alice B. Neal. The original Gossips of Rivertown cast a gimlet eye on Hudson society in the mid-19th century. More than a century and a half later, the new Gossips carries on the spirit of the original, but in a different genre and with a different focus.
