The Register-Star has the story this morning of a new plan to create "congregate housing" in Hudson blocked by Hudson's zoning code: "City code snags homeless housing--again."
What's most interesting about this story is that DSS went back to Phil Gellert, the owner of many noteworthy properties in Hudson, for their latest scheme. Last time, DSS was going to rent the two apartments in 518 Columbia Street from Gellert for $2,300 a month and paid the rent for three months even though the apartments were never occupied by DSS clients. This time, the plan is to rent the two apartments in this house on Eighth Street for $3,000 a month.
