Special Meeting Tonight

There will  be a special meeting of the Common Council tonight at 6 p.m., during which the Council will vote on the following issues:

  • Transferring from the general fund the additional $130,000 needed to build a senior center. (Meanwhile, it is still unclear if the City will be successful in securing an extension on the original $400,000 in CDBG money for the project.)
  • Authorizing funding ($120,000) for the cleanup of the former Foster's Refrigeration site.
  • Approving the new contract with the Hudson Police Department.
  • Amending the city code to prohibit erecting tents for overnight stays in city parks--an amendment inspired by an application for a mass gathering permit submitted for Occupy Hudson.
The regularly scheduled informal Common Council meeting will follow at 7 p.m.
