Drug Raid on State Street
At about 9:30 on Saturday night, the Register-Star published a story by Nathan Mayberg about a drug raid on State Street: "Hudson police initiate drug raid." A statement issued by the Hudson Police Department indicated that "a quantity of crack cocaine, marijuana and more than $4,500 in cash were recovered from the scene at the first floor of 514 State Street"--a building owned by Phil Gellert.
This blog takes its name from the 1850 novel by Hudson author Alice B. Neal. The original Gossips of Rivertown cast a gimlet eye on Hudson society in the mid-19th century. More than a century and a half later, the new Gossips carries on the spirit of the original, but in a different genre and with a different focus.
