In a press release issued earlier this month, Jay Cahalan, president and CEO of Columbia Memorial Hospital, described the relationship CMH was entering into with Albany Medical Center as "truly unique." It seems "truly unique" may not be quite the right choice of words. It was reported on WAMC today that Albany Med is looking to establish a similar relationship with Saratoga Hospital in Saratoga Springs.

Plus, 'truly unique' is redundant. Something is either unique, or it isn't.
ReplyDeleteAlbany Medical Center is not in-network with a number of well-known and large NY insurance plans. AMC's billing is elaborate, confounding and expensive. Their billing and collection departments are aggressive, intimidating and deliberately unsympathetic.
ReplyDeleteWill AMC's billing practices be imposed on CMH? Will CMH continue to be in-network with any insurance plans?
In addition to the above, CMH is far from angelic with their Billing/Collections.
