Watching 400 State Street

The venerable stone building at the north end of Fourth Street, which is only two years short of being 200 years old, is a cause for some concern. Even though it is individually listed in the National Register of Historic Places and has been designated a local landmark, ever since the Trustees of the Hudson Area Library sold the building to Galvan Partners in 2011, its future has been uncertain. For this reason--and the fact that it is on the route to so many places--Gossips keeps an eye on the building.

This morning, there was a lift and some activity going on at the site. Some investigation yielded the information that the building was being power washed.
