Of The Falls and Garden Follies

There's another open house at The Falls today. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., you can view the model apartments and tour the luxurious common rooms and other amenities at the new apartment complex on Route 66 in Greenport. If you are unable to visit today, you can schedule a tour at another time on the JMS Collection website by clicking here

This afternoon at 3 p.m. at Olana, Therese O'Malley will present a lecture entitled "The American Summerhouse: 'Amusing, Instructive & Friendly.'" O'Malley, the author of Keywords in American Landscape Design, is associate dean at the Center for Advanced Study in the Visual Arts at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. The lecture is an opportunity to learn the history of the 19th-century American landscape architecture form known as the "summer house," as well as one last chance to explore the exhibition Follies, Function & Form: Imagining Olana's Summer House. The lecture takes place at the Visitor Center at Olana. The exhibition is at the Coachman's House Gallery. Click here for more information.
