The Great War: May 1, 1917
On May 1, 1917, sharing a page with a report that a representative of the New York State Food Supply Board had been assigned to Hudson "to assist farmers with obtaining necessary supplies and other matters that will be of assistance to farmers in our county" and a message from a local grocer explaining that wholesale prices "have been advancing very fast," this advertisement appeared in the Hudson Evening Register.
One cannot help but be reminded of the $4,100 military-inspired outfit sported recently by Melania Trump.
