Gossips' project of sharing news items from 1917 that provide of sense of what life was like in Hudson during World War I continues. Today's offerings appeared together, one below the other, in the Hudson Evening Register for May 10, 1917. The first gives a sense of the greater role the charitable works of women were playing in life on the home front.
The second provides assurances that, war or no war, those who could afford it could still enjoy a summer holiday at the beach.
