A Hudson Tribute to Walker Evans (1903-1975)

As Garrison Keillor reminded everyone this morning on The Writer's Almanac, today is Walker Evans' birthday. In recognition of the day, Gossips shares some photographs taken in Hudson in the 1930s by the acclaimed American photographer and photojournalist. The photographs are in the Walker Evans archive at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

For now, because I like to engage readers in detective games, I won't identify the subject or the location of any of the photographs. (Regular Gossips readers will know most of them anyway.) All will be revealed a bit later on.
