On Friday, the Hudson Area Library announced that, thanks to a crew of volunteers, the History Room will be open to the public more often than it currently is. The new expanded hours for the History Room are Tuesdays from 1:45 to 6 p.m.; Wednesdays from 4 to 6 p.m.; and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to noon.
History Room volunteers (from left to right): Brigitte Gfeller, John Craig, Sue Bellinger, Barbara Weisberg, and John Kane.
During these hours, people can request information on local history, browse the collection of city directories, yearbooks, and local history books, and research items in the archival collection. COPYRIGHT 2017 CAROLE OSTERINK
I noticed some time ago—while researching something for the family of my kindergarten teacher, who went to Hudson high in the 1940s—that a number number of yearbooks appeared to be missing.
The librarian denied that they ever had them, but as someone who volunteered there (doing the reshelving for the History Room in the late 90s), I knew this was nonsense. Maybe this has been rectified, or people could donate volumes to fill out the records.
