Verdigris Returns

For the past few weeks, Verdigris has been closed, its windows covered with paper.

The following press release, received this morning, announces that Verdigris, reconfigured and re-created, is soon to reopen.
Just in time for Valentine's Day, Verdigris Tea & Chocolate is staging a "grand reopening." After a year under a temporary management team, owner Kim Bach has stepped back into a more active role, and she's reached out to several members of her former team as well.
"I'm thrilled to announce that our wonderful baker, Regina Simmons, will once again be offering up her delicious baked goods," Bach said. "Custom orders won't be available until after March 1, but, for the fourteenth we'll have loads of homemade cookies, cakes, and tarts. Customers who have been missing Regina's culinary treats won't be disappointed."
Bach has been spending time reaching out to chocolatiers in the area, too. Sadly. one of Verdigris's most popular suppliers, Oliver Kita, has closed down. But that hasn't stopped the shopkeeper from contacting her other resources. She's been ordering loads of favorites--chocolate truffles, chocolate-covered Oreos, and mint patties--enough to satisfy any chocolate lover's sweet tooth. And, of course, customers can mix and match their chocolate flavors to put together a custom candy box for a loved one.
One change that Bach is planning is an increase in using the store after hours for meetings and events. "We've reconfigured the floor plan in order to make more communal space for nighttime classes and/or special events--like tea classes, writing groups, or special celebrations. An artist herself, Bach is also considering hanging art for special limited shows.
"We want to make sure and give people a reason to stop by," she concludes. "I've always wanted Verdigris to be welcoming to the Hudson community. It will be great to see loads of familiar faces again."
Verdigris Tea & Chocolate is on the corner of 2nd and Warren streets. Store hours will be 10 to 5 daily, closed Tuesdays. Tea lovers can continue to order online and in store. Custom cakes will be available to order after March 1. A variety of baked goods will be available every day.
