This week, the first full week of August, is pretty light on the city meetings, but there are other things going on. Here is what's happening.
- On Tuesday, August 6, the Hudson Police Department, The Spark of Hudson, and Operation Unite are hosting National Night Out, a community-building event to promote police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie. The event takes place from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Henry Hudson Riverfront Park.
- On Wednesday, August 7, the Hudson Industrial Development Agency (IDA) meets at 10:30 a.m. The meeting may yield information about the IDA's consideration of an application for tax abatements from the Galvan Foundation for the building now being proposed for 75 North Seventh Street. - At 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 7, the Common Council Legal Committee holds its monthly meeting. No agenda for the meeting is as yet available, but chances are one topic of discussion will be the revisions to Article XIV of the city code: Community Character Preservation. - On Thursday, August 8, there are three meetings of interest, happening more or less at the same time. You'll have to make a choice.
- RUPCO is holding an informational session called Columbia County Plus One ADU (Accessory Dwelling Unit). The session is meant to help low- to moderate-income property owners construct or rehabilitate code compliant accessory dwelling units. The event takes place from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. in Lecture Hall 614 at Columbia-Greene Community College. Click here for more information and to register.
- The 1199SEIU Healthcare Workers at Columbia Memorial Hospital hold a public hearing from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Central Fire Station, 77 North Seventh Street. Click here for more information.
- At 6:00 p.m. there is a public information meeting to obtain comments on the proposed plans for replacing the Stuyvesant Falls Bridge. The meeting takes place at Stuyvesant Town Hall, 5 Sunset Drive, in Stuyvesant. For more information, click here.
