In the week, bookended by the Flag Day Parade and the OutHudson Pride Parade and including the first day of summer, here is what is happening.
- On Monday, June 16, the candidates vying to be the Democratic nominee for mayor--incumbent Kamal Johnson and challenger Joe Ferris--hold a debate. The debate takes place in the Hudson High School auditorium, 215 Harry Howard Avenue, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. The debate will be livestreamed by 542films and can be accessed here.
- On Tuesday, June 17, the Common Council Finance Committee meets at 5:15 p.m. The meeting is a hybrid, taking place in person at City Hall and on Microsoft Teams. Click here for the link to join the meeting remotely.

- On Wednesday, June 18, the Zoning Board of Appeals meets at 6:00 p.m. On the agenda is an application for a height variance for an elevator enclosure at 10-12 Warren Street, which is to be converted into a 27-room hotel. The meeting takes place in person only at City Hall.
- Thursday, June 19, is Juneteenth. To celebrate the day, Olana's Third Thursday event features a special Juneteenth Reading Room from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. in the Wagon House Education Center. The Reading Room offers the opportunity to learn about the holiday that commemorates the end of slavery in the United States through a selection of children's books, kid-friendly historical resources, and reflective activities that encourage curiosity.
- Friday, June 20, marks the beginning of summer. The summer solstice happens at 10:41 p.m. on the longest day of the year.
- On Saturday, June 21, it's the OutHudson Pride Parade & Festival. This year's theme is "There's No Place Like Hudson." The parade begins at 2:00 p.m. The festival at Promenade Hill follows immediately after the parade and continues until 5:00 p.m.
