Enough Already
Wrangling the comments on this blog has become more work than writing it and certainly more thankless. I started The Gossips of Rivertown and have kept it going for more than sixteen years to keep people informed about what is happening in Hudson. It was never my intention to provide a platform for people to snipe at each other. Let it be known that henceforward, unless a comment directly relates to the content of the post, it will not be published.
Thanks for all your hard work Carole and for keeping a steady hand with your much appreciated blog.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Carole. As a relatively new resident, I’m especially grateful for everything you do to keep Hudson informed. I can only imagine — and probably don’t want to — what you’ve had to contend with behind the scenes lately. Sixteen years of doing this is no small feat! Very much appreciated.
ReplyDeleteThank you for all you do. This is a wise decision.
ReplyDeleteConcur.
ReplyDeleteWe would not have met many of the other Editors, Union Jack, or other wonderful residents without the Gossips water cooler and news bulletin.
And we want nothing more than to engage on specific topic related shared facts and different opinions.
Please send all hate and love mail directly to editors @ and lets keep Gossips comment section narrowly on the issue and helpful information.
As a life-long journalist who was there at Gossips commencement, I concur with HCS's concurrence and be glad to join an unofficial @ team judging the difference between love and hate.
ReplyDeleteAs a lifelong man of too many words Gossips request really woke me up. I will comply and keep my complaints and snide comments to private letters to the offenders. LOL. And Hudson Common Sense, I think you are great, I think, but you write too much. I skip your comments every time i see them. But you are engaged and I love that. For Gossips is it possible to raise our glasses to say thanks. It is not her job to refereee boxing matches. Yes, we can mix it up but in away that leads to direct impact on the story at hand. COVID is over, we should be outside complaining to people on the street or just enjoying the many, many beautiful things about Hudson. Now, I have reached my word limit....or surpassed it. Thank you Carole for the wake up call.Your forum is a generous one and not only that it leads all of us to better lives in Hudson. I'm on the two paragraph rule now. I hope. Should I stop here ? Peter Meyer for school board! I love Gossips.
