It's hard to believe, but we have passed the midpoint of August, and we are now two-thirds of the way through summer. As we savor the last weeks of August, here is what's happening.
- On Monday, August 17, Mayor Joseph Ferris holds a public hearing on two proposed local laws: the first increases the dollar thresholds for budget transfers requiring approval from the Board of Estimate and Apportionment and the Common Council; the second amends the City's procurement policy to conform with the provisions in New York State General Municipal Law, Section 103. The hearing takes place at 1:00 p.m., in person only, at City Hall.
- At 6:00 p.m. on Monday August 17, the Common Council holds its informal meeting. The meeting is a hybrid, taking place in person at City Hall and on Teams. Click here for the link to join the meeting remotely.
- On Tuesday, August 18, the Conservation Advisory Council meets at 6:00 p.m. The meeting is a hybrid, taking place in person at City Hall and on Teams. Click here for the link to join the meeting remotely.
- On Wednesday, August 19, Waterfront Wednesdays, the last of the season, features the Camphill Hudson Players and Bollywood Dancing. As always, the event begins at 4:00 p.m. and continues until dusk at Henry Hudson Riverfront Park. Performances are at 6:00 p.m.
- On Thursday, August 20, Mayor Joseph Ferris has open office hours from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. This month, the mayor will be stationed in Council Chambers on the first floor of City Hall, which is fully ADA accessible.
- Also on Thursday, August 20, Third Thursdays at Olana features outdoor movie night. In collaboration with the Hudson Area Library and Story Screen, the classic 2003 fantasy-adventure film Holes will be shown at 7:30 p.m. For more information visit olana.org/thirdthursdays.
And that's it for the week

What will be this week's political rally at the Waterfront Wednesdays?
ReplyDeleteLast week it was HHA (federal gov agency) hosting a political event (lobbying the Hudson PB), on public land, at an event partially paid for by Hudson taxpayers.
Was that the thing where they had the people do all the handwritten letters? Cute! Love a good astroturfing moment.
