City Hall just issued the following statement:
Oakdale Lake is currently closed and under observation for a potential Harmful Algae Bloom (HAB). Out of an abundance of caution, as we wait for the test results, please keep all pets away from the water until further notice.
Hmmm, we stopped by earlier this week to this public park and public building to find four (4) paid lifeguards at 11:30 but no one swimming.
ReplyDeleteThe 1 lifeguard that was awake and not horizontal was kind and pleasant and shared that the camp was over and there was no planned activity this past week.
So that means Hudson paid 4 lifeguards with no scheduled activity, and when the lake was technically unusable.
This is how the Youth Center has a ~$1m budget while we underpay skilled Clerks and Treasury staff and underfund our volunteer fire department.
Maybe the Youth Center Director could explain… in the Hudson City Hall Newsletter… that the Mayor promised almost a year ago.
It’s called “failure to manage.” Rather than do the work the city’s CEO is busy trying to grow facial hair.
