Car Crashes into Train Station

A reader just sent Gossips this picture of a car that had crashed into our historic Hudson train station. There is no further information about how and why this happened, or the condition of the driver or the train station, at this time.

Hudson police and rescue squads responded to the AMTRAK train station at 69 S. Front St. at about 4:30 p.m. Friday after a motorist drove his SUV into the station’s awning support rail.
Hudson Police Chief Moore said the driver of a late model Ford Explorer SUV told police his vehicle accelerated on its own in the parking lot, causing the vehicle to collide with the support rail. The unidentified driver was taken to Columbia Memorial Hospital with minor injuries, while the passenger in the vehicle, identified as the driver’s adult son, did not sustain injuries.
No charges have been filed in the incident.
A tow truck driver arrived at the scene just before 5 p.m. at the request of police to take away the vehicle, and a repair crew from Amtrak was in route to the station to repair the damaged rail. Fire crews cleared the scene of leaking vehicle fluids."

So I hope the diver isn't hurt very badly and the Station is OK
