Of Interest

The Albany Times Union yesterday reported on the plans to commemorate the sesquicentennial of the Lincoln Funeral Train's stop in Albany: "NY capital to honor Abraham Lincoln 150 years after assassination."

The article contains this fascinating bit of historic coincidence. When the train carrying Abraham Lincoln to Washington, D.C. for his inauguration stopped in Albany (and also stopped in Hudson) in 1861, John Wilkes Booth appearing in Albany in a play called The Apostate.
