Since Friday, Hudson and the art world have been abuzz with the news that Marina Abramovic has abandoned her plan to transform what was originally the Community Theatre into the Marina Abramovic Institute. Meanwhile, another ambitious plan has also been abandoned--that of turning the building at the corner of Warren and Eighth streets, originally the Crescent Garage, where Packards were sold and serviced, and most recently Ackerman's Applicance, into Hudson Anchor, a food emporium modeled after the Chelsea Market or Guido's in Great Barrington.
The windows of the building, which had been filled with signage announcing its anticipated future use, now display notice that the building is available for lease through The Kinderhook Group.

Has the Snackerman's sign come down?
ReplyDelete"Chelsea Market or Guido's" ? ... less con and a bit of modesty would go a long way in this town.
