Let's Be Careful Out There

This morning, a driver lost control of her car on State Street near Fourth, hit a parked car, and then flipped her own car. A reader provided this photograph of the outcome. There are no reports of anyone being injured in the incident.

Update: It seems to be the day for hitting parked cars. Minutes after this incident on State Street, another driver struck two parked cars on Green Street. Bill Williams of 98.5 The Cat reported that story on Facebook: "Vehicle takes out 2 parked cars in Hudson." In this instance, one person was taken to Columbia Memorial.

  2. I haven't owned a car for about 6 months since my parked car was totaled by an out-of-control young driver 2 blocks from this incident (also on State!). Bicycling and walking around this town and it is clear that there is a certain lawlessness and lack of respect with many drivers in Hudson. Where does it come from? I see so many drivers with celphones in their hands and to their ears. Is HPD allowing it? Does the truck route foster it? Hudson's roads are not calm at all. It's friggin scary out there. Hope no one gets hit and seriously hurt or killed, but it's bound to happen and I'm surprised it hasn't already.

  3. Don't get me started. Hudson has some of the worst drivers. They know NOTHING of right of way and regular road rules. They speed down Green Street all the time, don't yield, pass illegally and other carelessness. These aren't the first cars destroyed on Green by wrecklessness recently.
