Nothing Lasts Forever

At the informal meeting of the Common Council on Monday night, a bond resolution was introduced, the first step in purchasing a new ladder truck to replace the KME AerialCat, acquired by the City in 2001.

The acquisition of the giant ladder truck, which was too big to fit into any of Hudson's historic firehouses, necessitated the construction of the Central Fire Station and led to the sale of all but two of the historic firehouses. The new truck, which is expected to cost not more than $1.4 million, will not be delivered until 2021. The proceeds from the sale of 2001 KME AerialCat will be used to offset the cost of the new ladder truck.
