The demolition of the CMH Administrative Services Building, formerly Eden Park Nursing Home, began yesterday, being carried out by a piece of heavy equipment that is literally clawing it apart.

The plans for the space once the building is gone received site plan approval from the Planning Board back in April 2021. Where once there was a nursing home named for the biblical paradise there will now be a parking lot.
The more people that have to cross Prospect Avenue, crosswalk or not, the greater the risk of someone getting run over. A yellow caution light would be wise there. Of course, CMH, NOT THE CITY OF HUDSON, should pay for it.
ReplyDeleteIf it is an issue, park a police vehicle there and they can remind people who forget the rules (and collect funds while doing so) :)
DeleteThis building was an eyesore, and of the worst quality of a bad era in architecture and design.
ReplyDeleteI hear that the parking lot may only be temporary.
Who creates a temporary parking lot with plans for something else? That's coockoo talk.
DeleteAs per Register Star article this morning this new lot will be for staff only freeing up spots on the hospital side of Prospect for patients.
ReplyDeleteYes indeed, one of the few instances where a parking lot is a vast improvement. I can imagine how poor the conditions of the nursing home have been. Good riddance.
ReplyDeleteHallelujah! Driving past that piece of crap building, I could feel the energy leaking from my soul.
