Some envision Hudson's alleys as the site of ADUs (accessory dwelling units) and the means to increase the city's housing capacity. Others eye the alleys for their potential as offstreet parking. Still others treasure the "accidental beauty" of our alleys and worry about the incremental loss of their character.
Recently, Gossips discovered this study of alleys by Thomas Dougherty, published by Strong Towns: The American Alley: A Hidden Resource. It is available online, and it is recommended reading.COPYRIGHT 2023 CAROLE OSTERINK
