In February, the Common Council passed resolutions to sell two City-owned properties: 10-12 Warren Street and 429-431 Warren Street. Today, the date of the auction was finally announced. It will take place on Tuesday, April 25, at 3:00 p.m., at the Central Fire Station, 77 North Seventh Street.
The minimum bid for each property has been set as the value determined by the most recent appraisals of the buildings: $895,000 for 10-12 Warren Street and $595,000 for 429-431 Warren Street. The sale of each building will be subject to a $100,000 penalty in the event that it is not developed for a commercial use within three years of the conveyance of title or if all or any portion of the property is sold within three years of the conveyance of title.

If it were me, I'd start the bids a little lower to drive interest. Hopefully they'll sell them for a good price, the city needs the money. Maybe Hudson Dots will buy them.
ReplyDeleteIn my humble opinion I would hope that the city would consider helping the Hudson Day Care Center revive by offering some " seed " money to assist The Center in re-opening somewhere somehow. After a deluge struck the area in July, 2021 the city was sighted by the Code Enforcement office due to structure damage and electrical issues at 10-12 Warren St. The Center was a tenant there for nearly 50 years. We have continued to " occupy " the building, and read about the sale of the building in the Register Star.
ReplyDeleteWe have looked for a building to house The Center, but with no luck so far. Adequate day care is desperately needed in the area and we are actively looking to fill that need.
