On Saturday, a front page article in the Catskill Daily Mail about plans to dedicate the marker at the Greene County Courthouse commemorating the bicentennial of Lafayette's Farewell Tour inspired Gossips to wonder about a similar marker to be installed in Hudson: "The Bicentennial of Lafayette's Farewell Tour."
As it turned out, our Lafayette marker had already been installed in Henry Hudson Riverfront Park, but there remained questions about if and when it would be dedicated.
Last night, Virginia Martin contacted Gossips to share this information:
We at the Hendrick Hudson Chapter of the DAR have been notified that the unveiling of the historic sign will take place at the Henry Hudson Riverfront Park Tuesday at 10 a.m.
Although it appears it has not been announced anywhere as yet, Hudson's Lafayette marker will be dedicated on Tuesday, May 16, at 10:00 a.m. You read it here first.
