A (Thankfully) Rare Occurrence
This morning, part of a utility pole at the corner of State and Seventh streets fell to the ground.
Gossips has no information about what caused the mishap--other than gravity--nor have there been reports of consequent power outages. The picture below, from a 2023 Google Maps capture, shows the utility pole intact.

I wish some strange force would knock down all the double poles around town. You know, when the utility companies put up a new one and leave the old ones to rot and blight the neighborhood. You think they have double poles in Rhinebeck?
ReplyDeleteWarren St looks much better with the lines buried. The poles exist after the 7th St Park.
ReplyDeleteIt would be good to bury them up to Worth.
in reality, the town would look a lot better if they were all underground or installed in the alleys. it would upgrade the whole community and the lines would be safer with a newer infrastructure.
