The new year is underway, albeit slowly when it comes to city meetings. Here's what is happening in the first week of 2024.
- On Tuesday, January 2, the Conservation Advisory Council meets at 6:00 p.m. The meeting is a hybrid, taking place in person at the Central Fire Station, 77 North Seventh Street, and on Microsoft Teams. (City government has switched from Zoom to Microsoft Teams.) Link here to find the link to join the meeting remotely.
- The city calendar lists a meeting of the Hudson Industrial Development Agency (IDA) on Wednesday, January 3, but there will be no such meeting. The IDA cannot meet until the majority and minority leaders of the Common Council have been determined (the people who hold these offices serve on the IDA), and that will not be determined until the Council holds its organizational meeting for the year, which is scheduled to take place on Monday, January 8.
- On Friday, January 5, at 4:00 p.m., Mayor Kamal Johnson holds a public hearing on an amendment to legislation having to do with alarms. The hearing takes place in person only at the Central Fire Station, 77 North Seventh Street.
