UPDATE: 226-228 Warren Street

Just when you think this building can't get any more inappropriate looking, it does--this time with the addition of shiny copper roofs. (The approved plans indicated "tin roofing material.") How long does it take for copper to oxidize?

  1. It takes a long time to age naturally but there is an easily assessable chemical available that will brown it immediately.

  2. Carole, I have used cooper roofing many times. It will turn the color of a circulated penny after a few rainy days or so. To get to the green patina that copper is famous for, it can take 10-15 years.
