The public hearing on the changes being proposed for 211 Union Street, the birthplace of General William Jenkins Worth, has been rescheduled for Thursday, December 23, at 10 a.m., in City Hall.
Immediately following the public hearing, the Historic Preservation will hold a special meeting to decide whether to grant or deny a certificate of appropriateness to the project. What is being proposed is rebuilding the front wall as a "veneer wall" and eliminating the Italianate door surround to bring the building back to what might have been its original Federal appearance.
